Before I update what happened in the campaign yesterday, I have to explain something I implemented that is mostly unused, but when it is used, is beautiful.
The Plot Coin is a physical coin (I used plastic ones this year) that I gave to each of my players. Everyone gets 1, and only 1 for the campaign year. At any time the player may cash in their coin, and change the plot of the game. (Preferably with as little backtracking as possible).
Last year it was only used once: The team had arrived at a small grove guarded by a dryad. She was introduced as Fulric’s sister (in a Fey sense), and being a classic D&D fan, I made them all make a Willpower saving throw to see if anyone became enamored with the dryad. Everyone passed. Then a player passed in his coin to me and said, “Ko’ar failed” or something along those lines.
So the player went off for some alone time with the dryad. everyone assumed he got lucky, but being the type of guy I am, I had them have a nice long conversation, as she was lonely, and to pay him for being a gentleman, she gave him some Bracers of Second Sight. (See below).
This year however the game was changed by literally calling in the cavalry. See if you can find the spot in the overview of the game.
Last time on The Quest for the Medalions (Working title)
Elisabeth attempted to convince Evil Uncle-Oard Katamura Todoroki that he needed Ko’ar to enter the hidden chamber to get the Lunar Weapon. She succeeded, and the 2 oarded servants grabbed Fang and Elisabeth, forcing them to their knees. Galladin, in Bear form was unsure what to do and sat down.
Aklair, who had lost all of his hair during a wild magic surge from the battle earlier, Maxfield and Zipaz were wandering around the 3rd floor when they saw the army outside get up and reveal themselves as oard. So Aklair and Zipaz (Basically Invisible and blurred with an Elven Closk, so basically invisible) went down to the 2nd floor, to view better. Where they discovered a small onyx statue of a panther that attracted their attention. Max stood ready to battle any oard he met as he continued to search the top floor for treasure or information to help them.
Pan Thanar and Zephyrus had just healed a bunch of the wounded Rakasta and Korobokuru soldiers through prayer (around 50 recovered enough to stand) in the battlefield, when the oard revealed themselves. They regrouped as the oard surrounded them, but then stopped. and stood passively.
Ko’ar then looked over the puzzle lock that his uncle had been working on at the far wall, and it turned out to be a semi-riddle in ancient rakasta. For some reason Ko’ar could read it, possibly due to the gemstone in his arm. it read:
The eye is not of cats, but of omens. Search the sword.
Ko’ar looked around the room and found a painting of his ancestors holding a sword. The sword looked like a katana with a large red cat’s eye gem in the center of the hilt. Ko’ar sensed something from the painting, so he reached towards it and his hand entered the painting, where he was able to grasp the sword, and pull it out.
As he did so, all the oard in the area went on high alert.
On the second floor, the oard began to scan through visual filters to try to find any intruders, forcing Aklair and Zipaz to rush past them down the stairs to the 1st floor.
The oard outside began to attack the team in the battlefield. Zephyrus, hit one with a moonbeam, and Pan Thanar used a stone shape to open an escape route through the encircling army of oard.
At this moment, the Elven Army of Hyrule that they had dropped off at the Interdimensional Library, and the Great Serraine Top Balista Air force arrived from the direction of the temple. Swooping in and attacking the oard army, as Pan Thanar and Zephyrus tried desperately to get the remaining injured soldier out to safety.
The battle outside ensued, as a battle inside began. Emperor Todoroki attacked his nephew, Ko’ar once he saw the sword. He attacked using a Coot Tech Laser-bladed long sword. the battle was fierce, but with the help of Galladin in his Bear form, Koar defeated his uncle. Elisabeth and Fang had been struggling to escape their oard captors who were still holding them down at this point.
When Todoroki was defeated, all of the oard in the area stopped. The emperor had been so obsessed with control, that when he joined the Oard, he made sure that all of the oard in his Kingdome would be under his direct control, and since he was no longer conscious, or online, they all stopped.
The Katamura Katana, had an enchanting effect on Galladin, and he was now under Ko’ar’s direct command. Galladin began to hear the thoughts from the White Elk Fey that had been helping them in the war. It claimed to be Oberon, and it thanked Galladin for the help he had given in the fey wild (Which Galladin still could not remember), but also warned about letting anyone have control over that sword, and he pleaded with Galladin to help stop its influence on shape changers and fey.
The Elven Army of Hyrule offered to stay as protection for Ko’ar’s new castle as the rakasta army was now decimated.
The gnomes were visibly dismayed that Adriana Skywratchet was not, as informed in danger at this location as they had been informed but were placated by being offered the inactive oard to investigate. They returned to their city.
Emperor Todoroki’s body disappeared in the aftermath of the battles.
When asked about how they got here, the elven general informs Ko’ar that De’ath had been following their adventures via a magic mirror in the comeback inn and had sent word for help to the Interdimensional Library, and to the city of Serraine. (He may have told them that Mayor Skywratchet’s daughter, Adriana, was in danger… and who knows she may still be over in Greyskull)
Meanwhile Ivory and Fulric have been enjoying a beautiful week and a half of nice weather and an invisible hut with all the fixings. She has been updating her diary and keeping in contact with De’ath and Adriana through it.
She relaxes with a good book and a rabbit on her lap as she waits for her brother to return for her.
Some items mentioned and used.

Details on the sword will come at a later date.
