Last Year at Christmas, One of my Co-Workers gave me this game as a Secret Santa Gift. They knew that I enjoy Board games, and they felt this was a good fit. I really appreciate this, and when I moved to ShenZhen I got to finally try it out with my daughter.
We had not tried it out at the old house because the game involves throwing foam burritos at each other. Our house in beijing was not big enough to move out of the way without knocking into something like a TV or a Table, so it was not practical.

Goal
To win the game you have to finish 2 consecutive rounds with the Fear Me badge.
You gain the Fear Me badge by ending the round with the most points. So the shortest game is 3 rounds.
Play
This game is very much a work at your own pace thing.

Every player starts with about 15 cards. your not supposed to count them out when passing them out. The remaining cards are placed into two piles in the center of the table. The Burritos are placed where everyone can reach them. When the game begins, nobody takes turns, they just do their own thing.
Each player can pick up or place down cards from either their own pile, or one of the center piles, keeping only 5 cards in their hand at a time. They can discard to either pile. If they get 3 cards of the same type they can lay them down in front of them.

Each set of cards with white backgrounds is worth 1 point. The colored backgrounds are battle cards, and a set of 3 of those is worth 3 points each.
When you create a set of 3 battle cards, a brawl occurs..
Burrito Brawl Cards

If you place a set of 3 Burrito Brawl cards of the same color down, you must call out “Burrito Brawl.” At which point the people on your left and right will have to grab a burrito and throw them at each other. The first one hit recieves a Burrito Bruise.

Burrito War Cards

If you place a set of 3 Burrito War cards down, you must call out “Burrito War.” At which point Everyone except you must grab for a burrito and throw it at someone other than you. The first one hit recieves a Burrito Bruise.
Burrito Duel

If you place a set of 3 Burrito Duel cards down, you must call out “Burrito Duel.” At which point You choose any two players. they will each take a burrito and stand back to back. Just like a pistol duel, You will count out 3, 2, 1. Each number gives them 1 step away from each other. The you call out “Burrito” and they will turn and throw their burrito at the other duelist. The first one hit recieves a Burrito Bruise.
During any type of Battle, all players must put their cards down and wait for the battle to end. When everyone is sitting and has picked up their cards the player who initiated the battles may call out “3,2,1 Burrito” and everyone continues play.
Game play continues until all 6 of the burrito bruises have been given out.
Points
Every set of 3 Burrito Battle Cards is worth 3 points.
Every set of 3 White cards is worth 1 point
Every Burrito Bruise is worth -1 point.
You count up the points, and the player with the most points gets the Fear Me Badge. If they already have the Fear Me Badge, the game ends.
If at the end of a round, there are 2 players with the same number of winning points, a Burrito Duel is called (See above), the winner gets the Fear Me Badge.
Rules Adjustments.
While this game is designed for 3 or more players, The box claims 2 to 6 players. If you happen to try to play with just 2 players, you will always be involved in the Burrito Battles. Keep that in mind.
My View.
My daughter loves this game, because it combines Go Fish and Dodgeball. She feels the game is a lot of fun.
As an Autist I can see why people enjoy it like my daughter does, but I didn’t enjoy the game. It feels too chaotic in nature.
For me to enjoy it I have to implement these rules adjustments:
I have to deal out exactly 15 cards per person. I cannot just give a random number, it feels wrong to me. I understand this rule was probably created to speed things up, but it just cannot be.
We have to take turns. I pick up and lay down, then you pick up and lay down. Doing things without order, or without taking turns, I get lost and get a headache from all the hands grabbing cards. I feel like I can’t grab the cards because I will end up grabbing someone else’s hands instead.
Again, I understand that the grab as quick as you can rule is probably there to help speed the game up, but I just can’t do it.
I do appreciate that my coworker got me this game, and I will try to play it more often with my family, but like I said earlier, I will be using my house rules to help us play without getting lost.
