So I have mentioned before that every week we have at least one day when we sit down as a family for table top games. Each time we rotate who’s turn it is to choose the game. And the chooser goes first.
Well this Friday was my wife’s turn to choose. She likes the simpler games and chose Uno. After one game she noticed in my “UNO box” there was something called “007 UNO”, and inquired.
Most of my UNO varients are a bit complex, in her mind. But when I explained this one she gave it a try.
I will include the rules at the bottom, as I had to translate them from Chinese.
Now found this at a large chain store last year, but I am certain that this is not liscenced from Matel game. For one there are no logos on the box. On top of that, the company contact info is a Hotmail account.

The game plays like regular Uno with the following changes:
- There is a second deck that consists of 9 cards, called the safe deck. These cards are purple and numbered 1~9.
- There are 4 wild 007 cards. (Note: all over Asia, “007” is used as a general term meaning spy)
- If a player plays the “007” card they pick up the top 2 cards of the shuffled safe deck. They look at them and place them face down in front of them. This is the Safe code.
- Each player in turn reveals 2 cards from their hands that they believe are the code. If they are right they place those cards on the discard pile and play returns to normal.
- If they are wrong, they draw a card and the next player reveals 2 cards to try and crack the code.
Now in my family we found that a little hard for the kids, so we play by the house rule that if 1 number is correct you have to reveal that card. The guesser does not draw a card, but the next player must have both cards or draw.
